                 Minox Slitter

The Minox slitter is quite easy to use: put the 35mm film
cartridge at one end, pull out the film lead, slide it under the
cutter slot, tape it to the take up spool then crank the handle to
pull the film through the blades until the  film stops , then cut.

The take up spool can be removed and save into the Kodak 35mm
film canister for future use.
I used the Minox slitter to cut a roll of Kodak techpan into four
Minox 8x 11 rolls ( about 42 exp each).

I used four cassettes: three plastic and one metal; the metal one
is easy to use.
The plastic cassetttes are  difficult to open the caps, I
had to use a small screw driver to pry open the caps. In doing
so I found that black debris particles were left on the white paper
pad. If any such debris gets into Minox, it spells disaster: from
 film scratches to camera  failure.
To make the removal of cassette cap easier, I cut open  one
of two  snap hole on each cassette cap; now the caps can be
easily removed and put back without using screw driver-- no more
debris.

My next step, make a small crank to hold the 35mm cartrige (
with two uncut 8x 11 strips stored inside ) at on end        , and with
a shortend and dis-ensemble  spool at the other, to crank the slitted
film
a number of cranks, cut, and pull open the spool to take
out two ROLLs of 8x11 film, already sized to the Minox cassette.

Separate the spooler to retrieve two ROLLS of 8 x 11
film sized to drop into Minox cassettes.
             Hope to reduce film handling
